====== Portable multiband receivers from various Japanese manufacturers ====== As an alternative to the German portable receivers from Grundig and Nordmende, and to the American Zenith receivers, quite a number of sets from Japanese manufacturers came on the market in the 1970s, some carried exotic brand names. They were often characterised by a multitude of features and chrome-flashed controls, but also by weak workmanship and by omitting essential but expensive components (linear VFO, digital frequency display, high-quality filters) for price reasons, often leading to weak reception results. Only these sets, some of which with exotic brand names, are listed here; the sets of the high quality Japanese brand manufacturers Sony and Panasonic can be found in the corresponding articles. ===== Portable multiband receivers from minor Japanese manufacturers ===== |Shokai NR-25F1|ca. 1974|Single Conversion|LW, MW, Marine Band, SW x 2, VHF, Air Band / Police Band| || |Tokyo Skylark NR-52F1|1976/79|Double Conversion|LW, MW, Marine Band, SW x 4, VHF, Air Band, VHF x 2, UHF|RF Gain, BFO|| |Marc NR-52F1|1976/79|Double Conversion|LW, MW, Marine Band, SW x 4, UKW, Air Band, VHF x 2, UHF|RF Gain, BFO|| |Lafayette Guardian 6000|ca. 1980|Single Conversion|LW, MW, Marine Band, VHF broadcast band, Air Band, VHF|red. ferrite antenna| | |Sanwa 6090 DF (Miramo 6090)|ca. 1978|Single Conversion|LW, MW, SW x 4, VHF|Digital display, 1 kHz|| |Sanwa 6080|approx. 1978|Single Conversion|LW, MW, SW x 4, UKW|Digital clock, no frequency counter|| |Commander 6100DS| |Single Conversion|MW, SW (6-18 MHz), VHF (60-88 MHz), FM (87.5-108 MHz), AIR (118-135 MHz), Police band (135-175 MHz)|Digital display 10 (!) kHz, two FM presets|| |Sanyo RP 8880|approx. 1978|Double Conversion|LW, MW, SW (2.3-5.95 / 5.95-6.2 / 6.2-10.0 / 11.7-20.0 / 20.0-30.0 MHz), VHF|Analogue display, calibration marker|| |Bearcat DX1000|1983|Double Conversion|10 kHz - 30 MHz|Digital display, 1 kHz steps, SSB, timer / scan functions|| |Uniden CR 2021|1983|Double Conversion|150 kHz - 29.9 MHz|Digital display, 1 kHz steps, six memories, timer / scan functions||
